Edit - Indeed the drops down there are terrible. I went to UW last night for the first time in months and all i got to show for my efforts was a 13-24 stormbow, which i salvaged and some dust.
I got something like 100 gold total profit (after paying my share for entry) for around an hour spent in there.
Totally pathetic.
Running around in ascalon for ten minutes gets way more profit!

Guys I have been saying this all along. The Drops not only in UW or FoW are terrible, but it seems almost everywhere. I have received Gold quality on some of the most worthless stuff for instance a staff with an energy bonus on it being all that is worth salvaging.
However, I do recall getting a while ago Gold max dmg Dragon Swords, Shields, Bows, etc. that were max dmg and were identified to have value. I just do not understand how a Staff with 9-15 dmg on it can be so rare

Oh gee, I just got rocked and all I got was this lousy sword that everyone already has. Guess I'll go sell it to the Merchant for 1 gold. Basic economics - if you only see one every 50 hours of game play, it makes it that much more valuable!

Man get out of here with that...I have played over 900 hours since April and still yet to have drops like the sword you mention. No rather Gold Bow with +15% Dmg when health below 50% .. that is bunk and how rare is that?
I have said it before I say it again rare means nothing in this game anymore.

I would have paid you quite a bit for a max Axe Haft of Pruning. I just gotta clear them weeds, y'know.
And Ozz, where exactly have you been saying there are crappy drops? You have...16 posts. I'm not seeing anything. And 900 hours played pales in comparison to some people.

i think all the weapons of "pruning" are so horrible that they actually are rare... maybe in the next chapter there will be a horde of plant creatures attacking the world and those that have been lucky enough to attain one of these "godly pruning items" will be kicking ourselves in the butt for not saving these weapons to fight off the invading venus fly traps...
just a thought.

Woh, you guyes needlessly wasted phantom keys! The first item dropped from any chest determines all items thereafter from that chest. First time it is opened, if it spawns a purple item, all the following will also be purple. Same goes for Gold.
Not 100% sure on this, but from experience and many other people experience this seems to be the case.

Oh, it's true. Of course, in a team of players who know that, I end up being the one to test...
Shmash, you remember the tons of Red Iris Flowers you gave to Gwen? They're coming back in full force. I just know it.

Darn it! i knew that picking all of those flowers across ascalon would come back to haunt me! i just wanted Gwen to be happy so i gave her everything i had capes, flutes, flowers - and she just leaves me - typical woman.
Now, not only am i depressed that she is gone, but you say all of the flowers will rise to power. I am a mark for sure!

Anyone who disses Pruning has never done the Titan quest outside of Denravi.
Seriously, Pruning owns there. It's like a free +20% damage bonus against everything.

You guys won't believe this. I had these drops earlier and wasn't going to ID them until i read this thread...it made me curious.
Top two pics are before identification. Bare in mind that this thread was minimized behind GW while i was ID'ing them, lol.

Best thing to do: take all crap mods out of the game, period.
Only put good, worthwhile mods on every item.
@Those who will argue it's subjective: no it's not. Everyone including the devs knows what the good mods are and what the crap mods are.
|
I disagree.
Why is everyone complaining about crappy drops when the real worthless drops are in pre-searing? Other than the dyes.

Yeah i'm actually surprised a weapon mod that adds % damage against humans doesnt exist. Would be perfect for pvp.

I'm just imagining how cute it would be to have Guild Wars T-shirts: "My Guildmate went to the UW and all I got was this crappy longbow" ...
or something to that effect.
